Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what personal data hantacases.com collects, for what purposes, on what legal basis, for how long, and to whom it is disclosed — pursuant to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, in force since 1 September 2023).

2. What data we process

2.1 Server logs

When you visit this site, our hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH (based in Gunzenhausen, Germany) automatically processes:

• IP address (truncated after 7 days)
• date and time of request
• requested URL
• HTTP status code
• user agent (browser identifier)

Purpose: server operation, security, and diagnostics.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 31(1) revFADP).
Retention: 7 days, after which records are anonymized.

2.2 Advertising — Google AdSense

This site serves advertising via Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; transmissions may extend to Google LLC, USA). When you load a page that contains an AdSense slot, Google processes:

• IP address
• browser and device identifiers
• cookie identifiers (only after consent)
• the URL visited and referrer
• coarse location (country/region)

Purpose: ad selection and delivery, performance measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping.
Legal basis: for non-personalised ads, legitimate interest in funding the service (Art. 31(1) revFADP); for personalised ads, only after explicit consent obtained via the consent banner (Art. 31(1)(a) revFADP).
Retention: as set out in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
International transfer: Google may transfer data to the United States. Google is certified under the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) apply as an additional safeguard.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time at adssettings.google.com.

2.3 Amazon PartnerNet affiliate program

This site participates in the Amazon.de PartnerNet affiliate program operated by Amazon EU S.à r.l., 38 avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg.

When you click an Amazon-affiliate link on this site, a 24-hour tracking cookie is set on your device that allows Amazon to attribute any subsequent purchase to this site. The following data is transmitted:

• the fact that the click originated on hantacases.com (referrer)
• the affiliate tag identifying this site
• session and device data already collected by Amazon

Purpose: attribution of qualifying purchases to the referring site.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in funding the service (Art. 31(1) revFADP); the cookie is set only after the user actively clicks an affiliate link.
Retention: cookie lifetime 24 hours; purchase data retained per Amazon's privacy policy at amazon.de/gp/help/customer/display.html.
International transfer: Amazon may transfer data to the United States; transfers rely on the EU SCCs and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.

3. Recipients / processors

A data-processing agreement under Art. 9 revFADP exists with Hetzner. Google and Amazon act as independent controllers for the data they collect.

4. International transfers

• EU/EEA (Hetzner): adequate level of data protection per Annex 1 DPO.
• USA (Google, possibly Amazon): transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.

5. Retention

• Server logs: 7 days, then anonymized or deleted.
• AdSense data: per Google's privacy policy.
• Amazon affiliate cookie: 24 hours from click; purchase data per Amazon's privacy policy.

6. Your rights (Art. 25–32 revFADP)

You have the right at any time to:

• access the personal data we process about you (Art. 25);
• request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 32(1));
• request deletion or restriction of your data, subject to any statutory retention obligations;
• request data portability in a common electronic format (Art. 28);
• object to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes.

Requests concerning data we process ourselves should be sent to info@hantacases.com. Requests concerning data collected by AdSense or Amazon should be addressed directly to those providers.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no first-party cookies and uses no browser storage to identify visitors. Cookies are set only by third parties:

• Google AdSense: cookies for ad delivery and performance measurement. Personalised cookies only after consent (consent banner).
• Amazon PartnerNet: a 24-hour tracking cookie set when you click an Amazon-affiliate link.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You may lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the revFADP.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy when our processing changes. The version most recently dated above is the binding one.
